EARNEST  MARTIN'S  QUICKIE  TRI  Q-200
Proud builder Earnie Martin has completely refurbished what was already a fine aircraft, adding this striking paint scheme to the graceful lines of this sleek canard design.
The instrument panel now boasts a new switch and breaker panel ahead of the stick which includes a 2-battery electrical system which can be used in tandem for engine starting.

No effort was spared to make this a show-quality bird, yet it's definitely no "hangar queen," having seen 920 hours of flight as of January 2004 since June of 1992.
Among the innovative details Earnie has added is this pop-open fuel door featuring a cabinet latch.  Surface finish and paint quality are both superb.

This shot was taken by fellow Quickie buider Jerry Marstall as they flew together to the annual Quickie Fly-In during the summer of 2003. Here's a great shot of Earnest flying the slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains southeast of Asheville. Even before the refurbishment of the airplane to real show quality, it carried a striking paint job that evoked speed even on the ground.
Among the places Earnest has taken his Quickie are to a Vermont ski resort and a separate trip to the Canadian border.  He's a regular attendee at  the annual Quickie Fly-Ins at  Ottawa, KS (three times), Matoon, IL (once), and Sullivan, MO (once).   He's also flown to Sun 'n Fun once and has pretty much scoured the  states of  NC,  SC,  GA,  TN, and  KY and is a regular  visitor to Cincinnati.
